The Database of Southeast Asian Sociocultural Information is created following the 2014-2017 strategic plan of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Center (SAC) in its capacity as a center of sociocultural data relevant to Thailand and Southeast Asia and in accordance with Thai government policy aimed at promoting and strengthening people ability to learn about and understand Southeast Asia countries’ societies and cultures in preparation for ASEAN Community. We realize that profound understanding about sociocultural aspects of Southeast Asia countries is crucial for a better mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
Our archive of Southeast Asian Sociocultural information, available for free public access in electronic format, include also academic texts, pictures and other multimedia e.g. e-books, on-line exhibitions. Some information or materials from other sources e.g. pictures contained in our database are used with permissions from the licensors. Modi cations or copies of these materials made according to user needs are to be done under the conditions set by the licensors.The availability of the databases is meant for educational and research purposes, and not for commercial gains.
